If you have heart disease or are at risk for heart disease, your physician may suggest this program. Our team of trained professionals is eager to get you enrolled and help you develop a heart healthy lifestyle.
Cardiac rehabilitation is a program, designed to help you maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle. Trained professionals work as a team to identify and help patients modify their risk factors. Proper diet and exercise are the first steps in preventing the reccurrence of heart disease.
Fairview Cardiac Rehab Program Achieves Certification - The national committee has notified the Cardiac Rehabilitation Department at Fairview Hospital that it has completed the application process, and met the criteria for program certification offered through the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). This premier professional organization is dedicated to the assurance of its members in meeting essential standards focusing on the highest quality in patient care. Inclusion in this organization provides Fairview's Cardiac Rehab Program the gold standard, along with greater access to information on new advances, professional development, as well as important updates on legislation and reimbursement.

Early Outpatient Program
Your physician must approve your participation in the early outpatient program. The cardiac rehab staff, with help from your physician, develops an education and exercise program customized to your needs. Throughout the program, the staff communicates your progress to your physician.
During the one-hour sessions a member of the cardiac rehab staff monitors your heart rate and blood pressure while guiding you through an exercise routine. Stationary bikes and treadmills are commonly used for exercise. The staff also will provide support and information to assist you in living a healthy lifestyle.
