The Lynn Marcell Community Library provides up to date medical information to both the lay and medical communities. We specialize in books, videotapes, and audiotapes on cancer. Our materials are geared to the patient and his or her family and friends. We also have a large collection of free brochures and pamphlets on specific types of cancer and their treatment.
The library has a large collection of consumer books dealing with all aspects of cancer including conventional and alternative therapies. Included in the collection are audio and videotapes on cancer, exercise and guided imagery. The reference collection includes the latest cancer encyclopedias, general health encyclopedias and professional books dealing with specific cancers. The library subscribes to several professional journals as well as the major consumer cancer magazines and newsletters. The latest newspaper articles dealing with cancer are displayed on our bulletin board. The librarian is available to perform Internet searches to provide up-to-date information and other assistance.
The Lynn Marcell Community Library is located in the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center at Fairview Hospital, Moll Pavilion (across the street from the hospital). Plenty of free parking is available.
Lending Policy
Anyone may borrow materials from the Lynn Marcell Community Library. Materials may be borrowed for up to three weeks. To borrow materials, a patron must fill out a library patron information card and also fill out a material sign out slip. Materials may be renewed as many times as needed as long as another patron has not requested the material. Materials may be renewed by phone, email or in person. Reference books and journals do not circulate. A copy machine is available in the library so that patrons may make free copies of information they would like to take home.
Overdue notices are sent to patrons one week after materials are due.
