Located in a tree-laden residential neighborhood on the far West Side of Cleveland, Fairview Hospital conducts residency training programs in family practice, general surgery and internal medicine. We also have institutional affiliation with two medical schools to provide clerkship opportunities for medical students in several specialties. Fairview also serves as a participating hospital for the anesthesiology, internal medicine, pediatric, radiology and sports medicine programs sponsored by the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
Fairview Hospital has full-time teaching chairpersons in all departments -- emergency medicine, family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics and surgery. Our dedication to medical education is further evidenced by our multidisciplinary CME conference schedule, offering 10 to 15 major events a week.
The medical library of Fairview Hospital subscribes to more than 250 medical and surgical journals and has more than 5,000 medical and surgical textbooks. Audiotapes as well as board review tapes are available. The library has access to MEDLINE and Cochrane databases on CD-ROM. Interlibrary loan privileges are available through area hospital and university libraries, including the Cleveland Health Sciences Library and the Allen Memorial Medical Library at Case Western Reserve University, which subscribes to 3,000 national and international journals with holdings of more than 333,000 volumes. Fax and photocopying facilities are available in the library, open to residents 24 hours a day every day of the year.
