OB Visits Begin at Center for Family Medicine
OB Group visits are now an option for our pregnant women at the Center for Family Medicine. Pregnant moms may choose group visits as an alternative to some of their more traditional physician office visits during the course of their pregnancy.
Each visit includes a health assessment by a physician, and an opportunity for the mom to locate the baby's heartbeat and more actively participate in their prenatal care. A group discussion of two topics, facilitated by a physician, nurses, and a social worker, takes place in the second part of the visit. Eight different topics are offered and moms choose sessions of interest to them.
Initial response has been very positive. We anticipate offering group visits for other topics/health conditions in the future.
